Where do you even start when you want to redesign (UI and UX) an entire product? Research.
Personas and journeys: Transactly did have some persona’s created but they were incomplete so we decided to rebuild our personas. Each team created their own and here are mine.
We decided to focus on our 2 main TC personas. We interviewed 15-20 separate users asking them questions ranging from their demographic info (which I also pulled from a Google search), to their frustrations, and their level of comfort with technology.
After that, we moved onto creating a more high-level user journey for each (showing 1 below) using the interviews we conducted previously. When interviewing we knew our next step in the process was going to be building the journey maps so we allotted enough time to chat with the users about their time on the platform as well. We also interviewed the TC Operations team ( the folks in charge of signing on new TC’s) since we were starting the journey at the point when the user is hired on as a TC and has some training to do prior to their first unmoderated use of the product.
Once we had a journey map for each, the design team worked together to synthesize the maps. Seeking pain points that were common across all experiences first.

In this process we had started to solidify our design system primarily relying on Material Design but making some design changes to some components to put our own style on things. We decided to deviate from Material's button, field, and elevation styles.
Because we still needed to update stakeholders to get more buy-in and normalize some of the changes we knew we were wanting to make, we created some wireframes showcasing some of the ideas we have. Below are just a couple of the designs we were playing around with.

My time with Transactly ended during this process so I was unable to see this project to the development stages. The part of the project where we were allowed to explore many different design concepts while also trying to design through the lens of the user was the most interesting part for me personally. I've been lucky enough to go through a few of these redesigns and I have to say it is something I do enjoy!
