The work that I am doing with State Farm is confidential. I will not be able to show any of my project visuals for the time being. However, I can provide a description of the work I've done.

Enterprise UX Work for a National Insurance Provider

Role: Product Designer → Lead Product Designer
Duration: 2022–Present
Team Type: Embedded external (via Synergis)

Since 2022, I’ve worked as an product embedded designer on a variety of internal tools used by insurance agents at one of the largest insurance companies in the U.S. My focus has been on modernizing outdated enterprise experiences, improving quoting efficiency, and helping teams adopt evolving design systems—all while navigating legacy platform constraints and regulatory variation across 50 states.

In this role, I’ve partnered with product owners, engineers, business analysts, researchers, and other UX designers across the Property & Casualty (P&C) space to deliver designs that balance business needs with agent usability.

Project overviews

Modernized Auto Quoting Platform (Live product)
I currently lead the design of a simplified quoting experience used by agents to generate auto quotes quickly and accurately. The tool was created to replace a legacy platform and is now being rolled out state-by-state. My role includes:

- Designing new features and enhancements across the quoting flow

- Collaborating on state-specific customizations (30+ states launched)

- Working within enterprise design system constraints

- Advocating for user-centered decisions in a high-speed delivery model

This product has seen strong adoption, with high usability scores and improved quote completion speed.

Submission App Redesign (In development)

I also led the visual re-skin of a legacy internal tool used by agents to submit coverage applications for non-standard property types (e.g., boats, condos, apartments). Although the scope was limited to UI modernization (not experience overhaul), we:

- Audited and mapped the full experience

- Built adaptable UI templates based on existing component libraries

- Shifted mid-project from one design system to a newer one (SFDS)

- Developed strong partnerships with a new product team, helping shape future design collaboration models

Deprioritized Quoting Tool (Not launched)

Early in my time on the team, I designed a full quoting tool intended as a bridge solution before larger platform changes took effect. Although the tool was ultimately sunset due to timing, my work included:

- Full experience flows and UI design

- Detailed markup documentation for dev handoff

- UX improvements to reduce agent friction

- Cross-team alignment with other P&C design efforts

This work helped inform and influence future quoting workflows and contributed to overall alignment across product areas.

Working Within Constraints

Much of my work has required balancing long-standing system limitations, varied regulatory requirements by state, and evolving design standards. Projects often involved:

- Designing within legacy product models with hardcoded logic

- Adopting and migrating between enterprise design systems mid-project

- Collaborating across multiple lines of business to maintain consistency

- Working with legal, accessibility, and research teams to validate solutions
